San Diego Bucket List

San Diego is a famously laid back city in Southern California, known for its golden beaches, surfing, perfect weather all year round, easy going vibes and tons of outdoor attractions. It’s the USA’s eighth largest city, located very close to the Mexican border and is one of America’s most popular tourist destinations. I’m pretty sure anyone who visits will fall in love with this city.

For anyone who is planning a trip I have a few suggestions listed below. Please stay safe while travelling during covid 19 and follow all the CDC recommendations:

· Maintain a distance of 6 feet (2 meters) between you and others as much as possible.

· Avoid crowds.

· Wear a cloth face covering.

· Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

· Cover coughs and sneezes.

· Clean your hands often. It's especially important after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after coughing, sneezing or blowing your nose.

o Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

o If soap and water aren't available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub your hands together until they feel dry.

Where to Stay in San Diego

TOWER23 Hotel is San Diego's only luxury, lifestyle hotel on the beach. TOWER23 Hotel derives its name from lifeguard tower 23 positioned on Pacific Beach by the hotel. The exclusive resort community of La Jolla is just north of the hotel, while downtown San Diego, the airport, major business centers and popular area attractions are just minutes away. San Diego's vibrant beach life sets the stage for TOWER23's distinctive architecture and style.

The rooms and suites at Tower 23 offer pristine ocean views, clean and modern design, high-end amenities, and distinguished furnishings creating the perfect balance between luxury and relaxation.

We stayed at Tower23 mid January and we loved every minute of it. From the excellent staff to the phenomenal food at JRDN restaurant. Everyone that worked there made our stay super special. It’s definitely a top of the line hotel with a great atmosphere. We will be returning very soon.

Places to visit and great spots for photos

Pacific Beach

When you arrive and settle in Tower 23 Hotel, start walking down the Pacific Beach boardwalk. At golden hour, the beach is stunning. We had such a fun time exploring Pacific Beach Pier. Fun fact, the beach is known among locals as P.B, if you’re looking for a typical iconic Californian beach, you’re going to find it here! Also it’s a great place for surfing.

La Jolla

Upscale beach community with impressive coastlines and awesome seafood restaurants. The beach you can’t miss is called the Children’s Pool. That’s the spot where La Jolla seals hang out.

It’s my favorie district of San Diego. That’s why I wrote a separate blog post about it. Click here to read it.

Old Town Historic Park

This cute historic park is not only super Insta-worthy, but it’s also a mix of history, culture, and delicious Mexican food. Interesting fact: Old Town San Diego is considered the “birthplace” of California. It’s the site of the first Spanish settlement in the U.S. There’s a whole heap of history to be had. For that reason alone I recommend you add Old Town to your San Diego itinerary.

Holy Matcha

Matcha is currently my favorie drink, as I don’t drink coffee anymore. For that reason when I discovered this place I was so happy. Not only the drinks and food are delicious, but also the interior is so cute. Their pretty pink couches and leafy green wallpaper make it almost impossible not to snap a perfect photo.

Sunset cliffs

Sunset Cliffs National Park, located along the western shore of Point Loma, is a favorite location for picnics or sunset shoots. The view of the sunset and the ocean is simply breathtaking at this location. I love how the colors change as the sun sets here. It’s a long stretch so just park anywhere you want once you are in the area and walk to the spot you like the most!

Greetings from San Diego Mural

A vivid splash of colours and the perfect Instagram photo to let everybody know you’ve been in San Diego.

Scripps Pier

In a state that’s famous for its outrageously pretty coastline, this sandy stretch is a gem of a spot. Perfect location to head under the pier and grab that iconic snap of the waves crashing against the pillars.

I hope you guys liked this guide! Don’t forget to check out my first post where I shared more about La Jolla HERE.
